Despite these discussions, there was an impression that even if no one from the Awami League withdrew their candidacy, the four leaders nominated by the other parties might employ alternative strategies to secure victory. The four leaders in question are Rashed Khan Menon of the Workers Party, Syed Najibul Bashar Maizvhandari of the Tariqat Federation, Anwar Hossain Manju of Jatiya Party (JP), and Hasanul Haque Inu of Jasad.
